CAP CONSTRUCTION
Wig Cap Material
The most common and undetectable material used for making your non-surgical hair replacement units are lace and thin skin. Both materials are incredibly realistic lightweight and produce the illusion of hair growing right out of your scalp. When properly applied there are no tell tale signs that the hair you are wearing is not 100% natural!
French Lace
Is a good base choice for beginners. It is more durable than Swiss lace yet still provides an undetectable appearance. It comes in a variety of colors to match your own skin color. If you are uncertain of what color you should select, Transparent may be a good option as you can also dye your lace to match you skin tone.
Swiss Lace
Is a delicate material. It is finer than French lace, and disappears for an invisible finish once it touches your skin. For durability you may opt to design your cap using French lace with Swiss lace at the front hairline.
Ultimate Lace TM
Is the thinnest most undetectable lace available. It is recommended for experienced lace wig wearers as is it is a very delicate material. It comes in a variety of colors and can be used as a full base or just at the front with French or Swiss lace as the base for durability. Ultimate Hair LLC is the exclusive manufacturer of Ultimate Lace tm. It is without a doubt the thinnest most invisible lace material available for lace wigs. Ultimate Lace TM is perfect for photo shoots, video, and movie productions, weddings, special appearances and occasions. Once you experience our Ultimate Lace TM, nothing else will compare.
Thin Skin
Is a very thin poly material. It is most often used for clients experiencing excessive hair loss due to medical reasons such as chemo treatments or alopecia.
For insurance information please see INSURANCE CLAIMS. Thin skin can be used for a full base or just at the front of your cap. The hair is injected into the poly material giving a natural appearance of hair growing out of your scalp. It can also be used in conjunction with lace bases usually around the perimeter. It can be used with tapes and/or adhesives. Thin skin is a very thin material and is difficult to detect to the sight or touch. You may choose to have your wig made using just one or a combination of bases for your perfect fit and wear ability.
Lace and Thin Skin Color Options
Lace and thin skin materials are made in a variety of colors. You may want to choose the color that closely matches your natural skin color. You may choose from the options on the order form or specify another color such as black, dark brown, or pink. If you are unsure of the best color to compliment your color, you may select transparent materials as they can be dyed to match your skin tone.
Stretch Lace
You may want to consider stretch lace in the base of your cap for comfort and flexibility. You can choose to have stretch in the crown of your unit, from ear to ear, or crown to nape. The most common option would be to have your base made of your selection or lace throughout the cap with stretch in the crown.
Silk Top
Hidden knots are used when using a silk top base. You can choose to have it arranged to your specifications, however the most common is to arrange the silk in the crown area, with lace around the perimeter. Hidden knots are created by injecting individual strands of hair through the layers the silk base. This gives the heightened illusion of a realistic scalp. We use the triple layer method for our in stock units.
